This issue of the Zeitschrift für Didaktik der Biologie - Biologie Lehren und Lernen (30(2), 2025) presents contributions from the 25th International Frühjahrsschule of the Fachsektion Didaktik der Biologie (FDdB), which took place at Leuphana University Lüneburg in March 2024. The Spring School offers doctoral students in biology didactics a platform for scientific exchange and the opportunity to publish their work in “Erkenntnisweg Biologiedidaktik”, which has been published as a special issue of the ZDB since 2024. The issue includes an original empirical paper on evolutionary knowledge and acceptance among prospective teachers as well as three project outlines on the topics of modeling competence, species knowledge and diversity education.
